Imagine this: A small team of Chinese developers builds an AI model as a ‘side project’… and within days, it causes absolute chaos in the tech world.

So what’s the Deal with DeepSeek?

Here’s what went down:

✅ Hundreds of billions wiped from the US stock market 📉
✅ Crypto market caught in the storm 🌪️
✅ ChatGPT dethroned from the #1 spot on the App Store 👑

So, what’s so special about DeepSeek? Let’s break it down. 🕵️‍♂️

DeepSeek has been around since November 2023, but its latest release—DeepSeek-R1—officially launched last Monday. Unlike traditional AI models, DeepSeek-R1 isn’t just another chatbot. It’s a reasoning AI, meaning it solves problems step by step, just like a human, instead of just regurgitating information from the internet.

And here’s the kicker: It competes directly with OpenAI’s $200/month ChatGPT-01 reasoning model—except it’s basically free.

DeepSeek-R1 offers 50 free messages per day for users. Even at higher usage levels (like through API requests), it’s ridiculously cheap, in fact, it’s 96.4% cheaper compared to ChatGPT-01.

Translation: You get top-tier AI without breaking the bank.

There’s a reason this AI is turning heads. Back in 2022, the US banned exports of Nvidia’s powerful AI chips to China. So, the DeepSeek team had to build a model that could run on less powerful hardware.

The result? DeepSeek-R1 is so efficient that people have been running it locally on an iPhone! 📱

I believe history tells us this is a short-term correction, going something like this:

3️⃣ Competition in AI heats up, leading to more innovation.
4️⃣ Consumers win with cheaper, more accessible AI.
5️⃣ Once the dust settles, markets rebound. 🚀

The takeaway? The crypto and tech industries will adapt, and users will ultimately benefit. So sit back, relax and watch the AI revolution unfold.

Still, my conviction is unwavering.

This is brutal to go through I do agree. and I did think we were going to see gains sooner than we have. Lessons have been learnt - My profit taking was ok but I should have kept more stablecoins on the side, and I should have taken more profits.

Make a simple plan for taking profits next time. Add some Bitcoin or rebalance into safer areas. Decide how much cash to keep ready after the next bounce. Work on better entries—based on the chart, not emotions.

Pick one thing that’ll make the biggest difference and focus on that.
